Glenbrook Crossing
Glenbrook Crossing is a 63-unit affordable rental apartment community located in Southeast Raleigh at the intersection of Dacian Road and Glenbrook Drive. This revitalized community is conveniently located on a CAT bus line and within walking distance of shopping on Martin Luther King Boulevard, a Raleigh City park and the Capital Area Greenway, various churches, and numerous employers.
Brookridge
Brookridge offers 40 studio apartments in a smoke-free building for individuals with annual incomes of 50% or less of the median income for Wake County. Each studio apartment, approximately 450 square feet, includes a full kitchen and bath, along with a combination living and sleeping area. With ample storage space and open floor plans, these studios offer roominess and flexibility.
DHIC worked with Wake County Human Services and representatives from referral agencies to plan Brookridge as a community that helps individuals make the successful transition from homelessness, transitional housing programs and overcrowded, costly or substandard housing. Ten units are restricted to individuals earning 30% of area median income (AMI), 20 units are for individuals earning 40% of AMI, and 10 units are for individuals earning 50% of AMI.
Sportsmanship Crossing
Sportsmanship Crossing will consist of 124 apartments for families (50 one-bedroom, 60 two-bedroom, and 14 three-bedroom) in six residential buildings. This community will serve individuals between 60% and 40% of the area median income (AMI).
The community will include a clubhouse/community building with an on-site managers’ office, community room and kitchen, business/computer center with free Internet access, and a common laundry facility. The community building also has a connected covered picnic area and screened porch adjacent to the children’s playground. Indoor and outdoor sitting areas are also provided.
Willard Street
Located adjacent to the Durham Station Transportation Center and American Tobacco Campus, Willard Street Apartments offers 82 affordable apartment homes (39 one-bedroom & 43 two-bedroom) for modest wage earners working in downtown Durham with a mix of 30% and 60% AMI units.
Willard Street Apartments is a part of a four-story building with two elevators built above two stories of structured parking, with 5,000 square feet of street-level retail space and a landscaped plaza overlooking the city skyline. Amenities include on-site management, community multi-purpose room and kitchen, fitness room, business center, and laundry facilities.
Partners on this project include the Self-Help Ventures Fund, Duke University, the City of Durham, and Capitol Broadcasting.
Emerson Glen
Emerson Glen is located in Southwest Raleigh along Tryon Road. The new 100% smoke-free, multi-family housing community offers a total of 48 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with eco-friendly amenities, such as Energy Star appliances and high-efficiency heating and cooling. Perfect for families, the community includes picnic areas, children’s playground, clubhouse with kitchen, business center, and fitness facilities. Emerson Glen offers handicapped accessible housing and is on the city bus line as well as convenient to nearby retail shopping.
Creston Commons
Creston Commons features 80 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments located off of Morganton Road in Southern Pines. The complex is conveniently located near Pinecrest Shopping Center and Pinecrest High School.
Carlton Place
Carlton Place is an attractive development at the intersection of E. Davie and S. East Streets, just two blocks from Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. Designed by the award-winning firm, JDavis Architects, Carlton Place includes 80 rental apartments and approximately 4,500 square feet of retail/office space.
