Our Impact

DHIC works to create more affordable housing for seniors, families, and individuals, particularly those earning less than 60% of the area's median income (AMI). Since its start, DHIC has constructed and/or rehabilitated 3,727 affordable rental homes in 49 locations across nine counties in North Carolina and has created more than 350 new homeownership units in Wake County. Each year, we serve over 350 families through our Homeownership Center’s monthly workshops and post-purchase counseling services, and we facilitate, through partnerships, over 400 resident services programs and activities designed to promote healthy living, youth enrichment, resident engagement, financial stability, and well-being for seniors.
