Yolanda Winstead Joins DHIC as President and CEO
June 17, 2020
Board welcomes third leader in organization’s 45-year history
Ms. Winstead was selected to lead DHIC after a competitive six-month, national search led by the DHIC Board and Terra Search Partners, a real estate executive search firm.
“DHIC attracted a number of highly-qualified applicants from across the country, but Yolanda stood out for her deep experience with the development and financing of affordable housing both locally and regionally, and for her love of and commitment to Wake County and the Triangle area,” said Elizabeth Voltz of Weatherspoon and Voltz, LLP, DHIC’s Board Chair. “It is an exciting but challenging time to invest in and to develop affordable housing. We look forward to Yolanda’s return to DHIC and to her fresh perspective and leadership as we pursue DHIC’s mission and goals.”
Ms. Winstead states, “I am excited to rejoin the team at DHIC to help continue its mission to support individuals, families, and seniors by providing homes and opportunities that promote the financial, physical, and mental well-being of people and communities. Since leaving DHIC in 2001, I continued to work in affordable housing, spending much of that time in surrounding states and other regions of the country. I can think of very few ways to better serve the community that I live in than to be able to do this work and witness its impact locally.”
We look forward to welcoming Ms. Winstead later this month, and to introducing her to our residents, partners, funders and allies over the coming months. In the meantime, Natalie Britt will continue to serve as Interim President and CEO and can be reached at natalie@dhic.org.
