DHIC Welcomes New Appointees to the Board of Directors

The Raleigh City Council recently appointed Jordan Maness to the DHIC Board of Directors. In addition, the DHIC Board has elected Meghan Melo. Both will serve a two-year term and be up for reappointment in 2022.

“As I approach my retirement as President of DHIC, I am confident that these new additions to our talented Board of Directors will help DHIC continue to meet the ever-growing need for affordable housing options in the Triangle,” says Gregg Warren.

New Board Member, Jordan Maness

Jordan (pictured left) is an engineer at Cisco Systems, where he supports the Customer Experience business. Jordan graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 2015 and uses his professional knowledge and love of STEM to provide mentorship and programming for local youth in Wake County.

He also currently serves on the Cisco Connected Black Professionals board as a Community Service Lead and as the Young Adult Mentoring Coordinator for his church. Jordan, who lives in Southeast Raleigh, is also the founder of MATSix, a technical consulting firm for small businesses.

New Board Member, Meghan Melo

Meghan (pictured right) is an attorney with the North Carolina Department of Justice. She previously worked as a staff attorney with the Farmworker Unit at Legal Aid of North Carolina, where she represented migrant and seasonal farmworkers in wage and hour, housing, contract, human trafficking, and health and safety cases.

Meghan graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin and the University of North Carolina School of Law. She moved to North Carolina to do a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after college and 15 years later, she is still here. Meghan is also a mom to three great kids.

In addition to our new appointees, Beth Voltz, Weatherspoon & Voltz LLP, has been re-elected to serve as Chair, and John Bryson, retired PNC, has been re-elected to serve as Vice Chair.

DHIC also wishes to thank Dexter Hebert, a City appointee, and Gary Blum, a Board appointee, who have recently rotated off our Board of Directors after serving their maximum terms.
