We’re proud to announce that The Village at Washington Terrace and Booker Park North at Washington Terrace have reached 100% capacity. Ninety-four original residents, joined by their new neighbors, have been busy over the summer unpacking boxes and settling into their new apartment homes and community. Resident services programming has kicked into high gear and events and activities have been hosted to help build relationships and identify service needs.

On Saturday, October 19th DHIC celebrated the dedication of Washington Terrace and the 2nd Annual Washington Terrace Neighborhood Reunion. We had a blast celebrating this event with everyone who was able to attend!

Following the event, Triangle news outlets shined a light on the community, helping to raise awareness about the importance of affordable housing opportunities in the area. The News & Observer spoke to DHIC president, Gregg Warren, about the fight against rising housing costs, while The Triangle Tribune profiled several longtime Washington Terrace residents and spoke to them about their experience watching the community change over the past few years and the input they had during the process.

We hope you’ll take the time to read both articles to learn more about this community and its residents.

Thank you to all of our attendees and to all of our partners who continue to support the work we do at Washington Terrace. Be sure to visit our Facebook page for more photos from the day!
