Friends and Supporters,

On behalf of the DHIC Board and staff, thank you to our families, friends, and funders for your unwavering support over this past year. We believe that the foundation of success for families, seniors, and children starts with access to a quality, safe, and affordable place to call home and because of your support, we are making a difference.

During this year alone, through our rental development, homebuyer education, and resident services activities we built on the foundation of housing success and strengthened families and neighborhoods through the following achievements:

• Maintained 37 unique properties and 2,300 units as affordable in our community

• Created a place called “home” for 3,450 individuals, including 654 seniors and 1,120 children

• Advanced 163 rental apartments for families and seniors by securing tax credit awards for Greenfield Place(Chapel Hill, NC) and Pennington Grove (Garner, NC)

• Offered 15 homebuyer education workshops and equipped over 550 families with information and education about the home buying process

• Coached 120 families through their first-time home buying experience and assisted 25 families at-risk of losing their homes gain access to additional resources

• Engaged over 25 community partners to deliver more than 5,590 hours of resident services programming that focused on youth development, community engagement, senior well-being, and health and financial wellness

This year, we also kicked off the civic engagement master planning process for Washington Terrace, which promises to deliver improved affordable housing opportunities for current residents and new seniors and families in east Raleigh.  The process has been truly rewarding and inspiring to our team and has fostered new collaborations with community partners and the public and private sectors. We are excited about the next steps in the process!
