Issac Reyes at a community event

Over the past few weeks, our Homeownership Center staff has been hard at work engaging with the community at several fall events. Here’s a look at what they were up to in September!

  • Senior Homeownership Center Administrative Coordinator, Tiffany Wilkins and Senior Homeownership Advisor, Tammy Simmons participated in the Wake Forest Northeast Community Coalition monthly meeting along with town employees. You can watch their presentation from the event on YouTube
  • On September 15th, Tiffany also participated in the 19th Annual Raleigh Neighborhood Exchange event, held at the Carolina Pines Community Center. This free, family-friendly event aims to bring neighbors together to celebrate Raleigh’s amazing neighborhoods. This year’s theme was “Cultivating Community Culture,” and the goal was to help local residents discover the communal gifts and strengths that live in our neighborhoods.
  • On September 17th, Bilingual Homeownership Advisor, Issac Reyes, represented DHIC in the annual La Fiesta del Pueblo event in downtown Raleigh. The event, which is the Triangle’s largest and most diverse festival of Latin American culture, featured food trucks, educational booths, local vendors, music, dance performances, and family activities.

Their participation in these events helps to raise community awareness about DHIC and our mission and is an important part of helping us grow. We thank them for always representing us well!
