DHIC is pleased to announce that the Town of Chapel Hill has selected our organization as the affordable housing development partner for an upcoming project on Legion Road. After a competitive selection process, DHIC was chosen because of our track record of managing, planning, and building similar affordable housing communities in the Triangle.

Development for the community will take place over the next 3-5 years, with a plan to build about 160 affordable units for households earning less than 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The property, which spans more than 36 acres, also has a planned town park that will serve residents in these units and surrounding neighborhoods.

“We have partnered with the Town of Chapel Hill on past affordable housing communities like Greenfield Place and Greenfield Commons and we look forward to working together again on the Legion Road property,” says DHIC President, Yolanda Winstead. “We are honored to have been selected as the developer for this project and know that this property will help address the growing need for affordable housing options in Chapel Hill.”
