From June 3-10, DHIC celebrated NeighborWorks Week. This weeklong observance allows communities across the nation to engage in conversations and build awareness about the importance of having safe, vibrant, healthy neighborhoods to live in; acknowledge the contributions of residents, volunteers, and community partners; and celebrate neighborhoods and communities.

In honor of NeighborWorks week, DHIC held a brunch event at Booker Park South on June 10th to provide an opportunity for the new senior residents who just began moving in to meet their neighbors at Booker Park North. Community partners also attended the event to provide information about the different resources available to seniors in their community.

Thank you to Resources for Seniors, Advance Community Health, volunteers from the Washington Terrace Community Garden, and Homework Haven for joining us! The seniors enjoyed mingling with neighbors, playing bingo, and winning some great prizes!

We’d also like to thank our event sponsors who not only helped build this incredible community but helped support a great event for our residents!
