Yvette joined the DHIC team in 2012 and has over has 30 years of experience as a nonprofit administrator, fundraiser, and public and civic engagement specialist. Yvette served as co-project leader for the Washington Terrace redevelopment project and was responsible for leading the resident and public engagement process. She is responsible for DHIC’s community relations and public-facing programs, as well as cultivating new and existing partnerships to advance the mission of the organization.
Prior to DHIC, Yvette served as the Campaign Director for the United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County for 18 years and for five years in programs and development at The Tammy Lynn Center that serves children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Yvette attended Morgan State University, majoring in Computer Science and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from William Peace University. She also graduated from N.C. Central University Entrepreneur Training Institute.
Yvette is a member of the Triangle Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has served on several not-for-profit boards committed to community and cultural development. She cares deeply about issues impacting women, children, and families and currently serves on the Southeast Raleigh YMCA Board of Advisors, the Southeast Raleigh Promise Board, and the Wake County Commission for Women.
