Water Garden Village Receives TCREW Award

On Thursday, May 1st, 2014, the Triangle chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW) held its annual Champion Awards at the Embassy Suites in Cary, NC. DHIC is proud to announce that its Water Garden Village community won the TCREW Champion Award for LEED Certified Building.

Developed by DHIC, Inc. and located off of Glenwood Avenue in Northwest Raleigh, Water Garden Village (WGV) is a 60-unit multi-family rental community that offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for individuals and families with incomes less than 60% of the area median ($45,480 for a family of 4).

WGV was designed and built to achieve LEED Gold and Energy Star certifications. The sustainable features include high-SEER HVAC equipment, low-flow plumbing fixtures, drought-tolerant landscaping, high-efficiency water heaters, green label plus carpets, no-VOC paints and Energy Star lighting and appliances. Some of the amenities include a playground, business center and fitness center. In addition, the entire community is smoke-free, further promoting clean and healthy living, and is located in the City of Raleigh’s highest priority area for affordable housing.

The development team included JDavis Architects, PLLC, Withers and Ravenel, Southern Energy Management and Harold K. Jordan & Co., Inc.
