The “new” look at Washington Terrace is now evident with construction proceeding rapidly at The Village at Washington Terrace and Booker Park North at Washington Terrace. When completed in 2019, DHIC will be offering 234 beautiful affordable apartment homes for families and seniors. In addition to these new energy efficient homes, the property will also include robust resident services programming and the 5,400 square foot Barbara H. Curtis Childcare Center.

The Barbara H. Curtis Childcare Center is an on-site childcare center that will be operated by Methodist Home for Children (MHC). MHC is a Raleigh-based nonprofit agency known for their commitment to delivering high-quality childcare services to the community. We are truly thrilled about the opportunity to provide high-quality affordable childcare services to the families of Washington Terrace and the surrounding southeast and downtown Raleigh neighborhoods.

In addition to the childcare development center, Washington Terrace will also be home to a natural learning play environment and a pocket park both designed by The Kaleidoscope Project and NC State’s Natural  Learning Initiative, which focuses on creating healthy play spaces for children to learn and thrive physically, mentally, and socially.
