Affordable housing developers work to keep pace with demand DHIC gets funding for Beacon Ridge

RALEIGH – As more and more people pour into the Triangle area, providing affordable quality housing is an ever-growing challenge.

“With Wake County and the Triangle, in general, being such a hot market, people are flocking here. A recent county study shows there are over 65 people moving here a day. It puts undue stress and pressure on infrastructure and services that we offer and makes it challenging to keep up with the demand for housing, and it also causes the price of housing to go up,” said Yvette Holmes, vice president of resource development and partnerships for affordable housing, nonprofit developer DHIC, Inc.
